On our way back from our Calatagan trip, we decided to proceed first to Nasugbu town to eat dinner before heading back to Manila. Not wanting to eat in another fast food store and want to try something more local, we went ahead and followed the sign we saw along the road pointing us to "Kainan sa Dalampasigan" restaurant. Unlike it's name though, this restaurant isn't located near any shore so don't expect any seaside views while you eat ^_^. I've read later on that the restaurant has actually been there for quite a while and many many moons ago has actually been near the shores. It turned out, the town has grown so much that some parts of the shores has been extended as a residential area.
The interior of the restaurant reminds me of Sonya's garden in Tagaytay, there are wooden chairs and tables, drapes in the ceiling, landscaped surroundings, capiz windows, full round fountain, indoor gardens that can be used as a function area. Actually, when we were there, the restaurant has been set up for a wedding reception. With the wedding cake on the stand, the lover's doves on the cages, white cloth over the dark wooden tables and love songs playing in the air while we eat, it made the ambiance more romantic and more appealing for us. ^_^
The best part though does not lie with the surroundings alone, there's a reason why this restaurant has been in the business for a very long time. Simply put, their food is super delicious-o. Their yummy menu consists of Filipino cuisines. I was expecting the normal charcoal taste when we ordered their grilled food platter but to my surprise, you can really taste the difference between the bangus, shrimp and pork. It wasn't like they tossed everything on the grill and just let it cook by itself. The food isn't burned either and the baked tahong (shellfish) was also a treat. For the record, I really don't eat tahong but after trying one, I made an exception for this trip. ^_^
