Rooms and Inspirations

As I said in my previous post, there are many sites that offers inspiration for homeowners. Me and my husband have used several of this sites to come up with our own versions of them and have applied them to our home. Don't expect too much though, our home is just average compared to those you see from the mentioned sites so consider ours a super uber miniature versions only. lol :)

Our Kitchen

Our actual kitchen has come about as a bit of a disaster during construction, but, I am a firm believer that someday, we will have enough budget to get the traditional look that we were going for or something better for the heart of our home. Pardon the dishes in the sink, it was a busy day when I took this picture. :)

The Kitchen was inspired by one of the traditional kitchen designs from Kitchens.com (although I am not really a big fan of the super light blue greenish paint wall in the picture and the matchy matchy chairs). I do adore the subtle details in the cabinet doors and the color of the backsplash tiles.

Our mini patio

The inspiration came about when we saw the picture of an open style house featured in freshomes.com; it was just an inspiration that we wanted to recreate (in a much smaller scale of course hehe )

Our Side Gate

A romantic arched gate with all the carefully welded details and curls appeals to us so much, our inspiration is the picture we got from the internet (we just needed to tweaked it a bit to fit the budget).

Bedrooms

Traditional design in the common areas but more of a cottage feel in the bedroom. That's what I've always wanted to have.  A well lighted bedroom that has our huge bed  in the center of the room with soft linens and an unnoticeable closet. No electronics inside, no desk table that will probably force anyone to think of work and most importantly, wooden floors that warms my feet when I wake up and step off the bed in the morning. Ah..heaven :)

Haven't have the guts to let you in our bedroom yet but once we've finished the design, I'll be happy to share it with you all. In the meantime, let us all drool over this inspiring cottage style bedrooms.

 For Future projects:

As you know our kitchen has a big slab right above it, inspired by the lounge/ sunbathe area above the sitting room as shown in the picture below, we figure maybe my husband and I could do something like this as well. Definitely reserving this picture for future reference. :)

And, of course, we need to come up with some clever ideas on how to have ample storage space for our stuff. Having the same concept as the one being finished below. Storage under the stairs is really a classic and most practical way to maximize your space. Although, I might put a bed under it just in case Hagrid flies in and deliver Harry Potter in our doorstep. :)

There are a lot of designs in the internet that can inspire us and force our imagination to see what is possible. All we need is a little time to research, a little imagination on what can work for the actual space that we have and a good team that could help us build them. We are far from reaching our dream home but I know we'll get there somehow.
